Terry, Doug, Jen and Nick arrived on Monday to help us with the construction. Without their help the work would have taken all summer. Fortunately the water was very warm, and the weather hot.

The first day was mainly taken up with moving most of the loose rocks from the old dock. We put them nearby on a shallow outcrop to form a similar mound - hoping the many local water snakes would be happy to transfer their sun bathing to the new location.

The rock moving was considerably delayed by frequently coming across the remains of the steel spikes. These were dangerously corroded to razor-sharp edges. They poked out of the lake bed, but remained under the water surface.
